idaGROW was built around a simple idea: make it easier to discover and support the people and organizations that make Idaho communities what they are.

Across Idaho, thousands of independent businesses, makers, artists, tradespeople, service providers, and nonprofits are doing incredible things. But finding them isn't always easy.

They're scattered across websites, social media, search results, local markets, and word of mouth. Many are doing great work without the time or resources to constantly fight for attention online.

But there's something else that often gets lost along the way:

The people behind them.

Every local business started somewhere. Every maker has a reason they create. Every nonprofit has people who care enough about something to do the work.

Those stories matter.

idaGROW is here to help people discover them.

We're building a statewide discovery platform dedicated specifically to Idaho — a place to discover independent businesses, makers, and nonprofits, learn about the people behind them, and connect directly with the places you want to support.

idaGROW profiles aren't meant to be another name, address, and phone number in a giant database. They're a place for businesses, makers, and nonprofits to share what they do, how they got started, what matters to them, and the people behind it.

Maybe it's a maker who turned a hobby into a livelihood.

Someone who started a business in their garage.

A nonprofit created because somebody saw a need in their community and decided to do something about it.

Those are the stories we want Idahoans to discover.

Built by an Idaho Small Business Owner

I'm an Idaho maker and small business owner myself. I've spent more than a decade building and running my own jewelry business, selling my work, attending markets, promoting online, and experiencing firsthand one of the biggest challenges facing independent businesses:

Getting noticed.

But I've also learned something else over those years.

People care about the person behind what they're supporting.

They want to know who made something. Why someone started their business. Who they're talking to when they walk through the door. Where their money is going when they choose a local company instead of a national one.

That personal connection has always mattered to me in my own business, and it's something I want at the heart of idaGROW.

Idaho doesn't have a shortage of great businesses, talented makers, or organizations worth supporting.

Sometimes we just don't know they're there — or the people behind them.

I wanted to build something that could help change that.
